National Instruments – NI MyDaq Software Download and Installation

NI refers to the manufacturer – National Instruments

My refers to “YOU”

Daq refers to Data Aquisition

The NI-MyDaq has many features and functions. It behaves as a Power Supply, Oscilloscope, Function Generator, Multimeter, Network Analyzer, Etc… Etc… Etc…. This is a pretty cool bit of kit that we can learn a lot with. After following these instructions for the software download and install, please see the Intro Video from the CECS 311 class page, right below the link that brought you here….

National Instruments Driver/Software Download Page

Download “ni-elvismx_19.0_online_repack2.exe” from the above link. On that page in the lower right is a download link for “NI-ELVISmx 19.0”. You may have to create a user account before it allows you to download. NI refers to this as the “Driver”, however this install is not only the driver but also the software to run the MyDaq. It will install a package manager then automatically install the software for the MyDaq

Navigate to the folder that your browser downloaded the file to and run “ni-elvismx_19.0_online_repack2.exe”

Accept the License -> Next

Install with the Defaults -> Next
This will install the package manager

Once downloaded, accept the defaults by pressing Next
Accept the license -> Next
Accept the license (again) -> Next
One last “Next” to install

Now that you have installed the driver and software please see the Intro Video from the CECS 311 class page, right below the link that brought you here….
